We had dinner on our second night with guests Colin and Melinda, from Bowral, Australia, to the south of Sydney.\u00a0 Great couple that were a lot of fun to chat with.\u00a0 We saw them again at breakfast and they invited us to join them on a boat ride to a remote spot called “Mermaid Cove”.\u00a0 I didn’t bring my phone with me, so here is a shot from the internet of the cove.<\/p>\n

We spent nearly an hour there snorkeling and this was the best spot we saw during our time there.\u00a0 Plenty of fish and massive clams!\u00a0 The water just in front of the lodge is a bit murky, as is nearby Sunset Beach.<\/p>\n

On our way to lunch I spotted this bird with long tail feathers called a Pheasant Coucal.\u00a0 They apparently don’t fly too well, which explains why he just ran away from us.<\/p>\n

We got back from out snorkeling trip just in time, as it started raining again just as we sat down to lunch.\u00a0 These two Silver Gulls have been constant companions around the dining area, hoping for a handout.\u00a0 The staff said they can’t turn their backs on them as they’ll fly right in and snatch food right off the plate.\u00a0 You can see the streaks of rain in the photo if you look closely.<\/p>\n

We were treated to excellent musician Mason Lloyde during lunch.\u00a0 A few minutes after sitting down we heard the familiar tune of the Dierks Bentley\/Stephen Wilson Jr. song I asked him to check out the night prior, “Cold Beer Can”.\u00a0 He had it down overnight!!\u00a0 What a talent, and such a great song!\u00a0 Here is the original:<\/p>\n
