<\/a><\/p>\nThe rip-rap they had in place to protect the shoreline was interesting, looking like something out of Hitler’s Atlantic Wall protections.<\/p>\n
A shot of us from the same spot.<\/p>\n As I was taking this shot a dolphin rose out of the water to my left….just missed him!<\/p>\n A beautiful shot looking north into Mobile Bay as we exit the harbor.\u00a0 That’s the Dauphin Island Bridge in the background.<\/p>\n About 45 minutes later we pulled into Fort Morgan.\u00a0 Pretty low profile of the fort on the right side of the photo.<\/p>\n We stopped in Gulf Shores, AL, and checked out the beach.\u00a0 I didn’t take a photo but here is an aerial view of the beach here.\u00a0 The entire Gulf of America has been stunning!<\/p>\n We had lunch at this huge party place called The Hangout.\u00a0 It was pretty quiet considering the time of day and it being the off-season, but I can just imagine how busy this place can be in the summer peak season.<\/p>\n Kim tried sitting in the big chair just outside the restaurant and took a little slide backwards!\u00a0 Whoops!<\/p>\n We both had to get a shot in the chair, hanging on so we don’t slide backwards.<\/p>\n Here’s a final shot of John and Linda (and their fun dog Rosie) in their beautiful home.\u00a0 John just retired as Executive Director of the Port of Mobile, and they are currently cleaning up their belongings while trying to decide where they are going to move to next.\u00a0 Thanks for hosting us you guys!<\/p>\n The next morning we continued our drive east, heading towards Pensacola Beach, Florida.\u00a0 This is right after we crossed the state line into “The Free State of Florida”.<\/p>\n Pensacola is the home of the famous Blue Angels!<\/p>\n We loved the welcome!\u00a0 The rest area is as clean as can be.\u00a0 I think we are going to like Florida!<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
