Capela dos Ossos, Evora, Portugal

Capela dos Ossos translates as Chapel of Bones.  This is likely the most famous spot in Evora.  This chapel was built in the 16th century by a guy who today would be relegated to the loony bin for the rest of his life.  A sign over the entraces translates to “We bones that are here, we are waiting for your’s”.

I don’t know that I need to say any more on this.  Dude got his hands on some good ganja!

Évora is ranked number two in the Portuguese most livable cities. It was number one until those bodies started piling up. Évora has a history dating back more than five millennia, which is either a long long time ago or a Star Wars reference. Evora was conquered by the Romans, then conquered by the Moors, then it was conquered by some guy named Gerald the Fearless.
