Vila Vita Parc Hotel, Algarve, Portugal

This place in the Algarve, on the coast near Lagos, has to be the nicest resort in Portugal.  Once again the car nav system failed us miserably, but we did meet a very cool guy from Sweden named Gustav who pointed us in the right direction.

This resort has 114 rooms and 10 restaurants!  The place is simply gorgeous!

Because it’s the low season they gave us a free upgrade to a suite.

Life is rough!

Quetzal winery

We heard from various sources in Evora that we should hit Quetzal winery on our way south to the Algarve region of Portugal.  This place is about as out of the way as you can get!  The car couldn’t find it, but fortunately google android could.  We had to drive through a community of about 400 people who gave us the strangest looks (our jeep is VERY dirty after visiting the megalithic sites).  The winery was beautiful, and the wines were very good.  Wish we could send a couple cases home!

The Antao Vaz was excellent!  So expensive at 8.60!  This wine would crush nearly any white wine under $30 in CA.
