On our way to Dublin we first flew into Heathrow. We broke through cloud cover and this is what we immediately saw.
I don’t remember jets flying that low right over London. This was the day after the queens funeral. Fortunately we didn’t see any issues at Heathrow. For those of you who might be Pink Floyd fans, I had to take a photo of the Battersea power plant.

Ok, “music geek mode disengaged.” Our flight to Dublin went just fine, with the only hiccup being trying to pick up the rental car at Europcar. These people are WAY slow and very disorganized! We eventually got our car and headed south of Dublin for our first stop, which is coming up next.
First though I have to say I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to start the damn car. I was looking for a button to push for at least 5 minutes and finally Kim had to call a guy over to help. He grabbed the key fob, flipped out a key, and stuck it in the ignition on the side of the steering wheel. Doh! How quaint, an actual key! Kim is still laughing about it. Hopefully that’s my last Biden moment of the trip…but I doubt it.
